Stuff To Get

Stuff to get I figured would be a site where the author would provide information on getting free stuff or interesting things to download or own. But after spending 5 minutes reading one post on the website I still can’t figure out what the blog is all about.
However on closer look (that means ignoring the weird post about St. Patricks day and some weird post names) I discovered a plethora of information about great softwares and general things to pass time when you are bored. I played a few flash games the author recommended and found them pretty decent.

Some of the software reviews i found were really unneccesary software, though free. I wonder why anyone would download a free software for checking your disk usage when a simple right click would suffice.
That said there are a few articles on some really good softwares, few I use personally, like filezilla( a FTP client ) , open office and things like that. A really interesting post was a piece about a website with an RPG where you can start your own country and control it (online of course).

Coming to the website aspect of StufftoGet, the design is the traditional blog look with a simple theme, the ads are on the far right and do not obstruct the articles as so many of the money hungry blogs do.
One thing i like what the author has done is made the blog with the “do follow” for comments, this makes people reading the blog able to add a comment and get a backlink to their website as well. Thats now all, the website also features a most comments tab with a direct link on all pages. A total win-win if you ask me.
Few of the things that make the website unique are the decent reviews and stuff to do online posts. The ‘what to do with a google account’ posts are also very informative. And a backlink to their users, thats just great. Apart from that the author also takes/uses reader feedback, so to say, if you have things to add, you can click a link and send the relevant information to the author.

Overall i give it a decent 3.5/5.
One thing i hate with websites is the annoying linkovers(contentlink) its too intrusive and in my opinion not a great way to display ads. Removing that might gain the author some repeat readers.
